Sarah Moule and Simon Wallace’s set mixes the classic jazz repertoire of Duke Ellington, Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald with critically acclaimed songs by Simon and the late great jazz lyricist Fran Landesman (Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most, The Ballad Of The Sad Young Men).

Sarah’s 5th album, Stormy Emotions, was released in Spring 2021 to stellar reviews on both sides of the Atlantic and featured in 4 Best Of 2021 critics’ lists. Simon, Fran and Sarah developed a uniquely close relationship over 18 years performing at the 606 Club, PizzaExpress Jazz Club, Ronnie Scott’s, The Vortex, and The Purcell Room.

Born in New York in 1927, Fran Landesman’s work has been recorded by artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Barbra Streisand and Miles Davis and with this new collection Sarah has so far introduced forty-five Landesman/Wallace songs on her albums.

I got lucky meeting Simon. That he married Sarah Moule was a bonus. She’s the jazz singer par excellence.‘ (Fran Landesman)

Sarah spent six years as featured vocalist with The John Wilson Orchestra before becoming a recording artist for Linn Records. She has toured with jazz legend the late Bob Dorough and performed with British jazz luminaries including Norma Winstone, Duncan Lamont and Ian Shaw.

When Simon met Fran in 1993 he had recently returned from 3 years touring worldwide with the Lindsay Kemp Company and was writing music for TV shows including Absolutely Fabulous and French and Saunders. He has since toured internationally with Imelda Staunton, Clare Teal, Ian Shaw and Barb Jungr.
